Cardamom is a spice made from the seeds of several plants in the genera Elettaria and Amomum in the family Zingiberaceae. Both genera are native to Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, Indonesia, Nepal and Pakistan.
Herbs and spices are used in some types of beer, especially the Belgian Biere Blanche, Gran Cru, Triple and Christmas Beer. They are usually added during the last 15 minutes of boiling.
