Sichuan pepper - 50 g sack
Sichuan pepper, genus Zanthoxylum, is a small berry used as a spice especially in Asia, in the Oriental cuisine such as for example in China (especially in Sichuan, or Szechuan, from which the spice takes its name), Nepal, Tibet, Bhutan and Japan. Despite its name, it is not closely related to black pepper but just similar in appearance.
It has a very typical and peculiar taste. It is not so pungent and spicy as black pepper or chili pepper and it is characterised by a slight lemon flavour.
